New Caney, Texas – The addition of the Alan Rudolph Racing Academy to SpeedsportZ Racing Park’s extensive lineup, may be their biggest attraction yet. With an anticipated December 1st opening to the public, SpeedsportZ Racing Park will include European- style karts racing around the dual tracks at speeds of up to eighty-five miles per hour and multi- purpose facilities that include retail space, private garages and a pro shop. However, the biggest draw may likely be professional racer turned instructor, Alan Rudolph and his Alan Rudolph Racing Academy.
Alan Rudolph has relocated from Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in Phoenix where he taught for l6 years, to lead and teach at SpeedsportZ Racing Park. In addition to training prospective racers on European-style racing karts, the Alan Rudolph Racing Academy will offer high performance instruction in full size cars for corporate and group events as well.
The Alan Rudolph Academy offers beginner courses to individuals interested in learning more about kart racing with no experience necessary. Advanced 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day classes are also available for experienced racers. These classes are intended to improve the performance and ability of drivers while learning the art of professional kart racing.
“You get to drive what a real professional race kart is like” explains Rudolph. The speeds of these professional karts are well above that of a street vehicle. “My school karts have 125 cc engines on them and are capable of about 80-85 miles an hour” shares Rudolph.
SpeedsportZ Racing Park is the first major attraction to open within the Grand Texas development in East Montgomery County, at the junction of Interstate 69 and State Highway 242. The multi-purpose racing facility is expected to open operations to the public as early as the beginning of December of this year. Multiple buildings and portions of the track are currently under construction.
This facility is designed to provide multiple services simultaneously; a rental kart track, open to the public; a professional racing track; club memberships with 36 member garages; and a retail area selling karts, equipment and parts. Group and corporate events will be a major offering at the racing complex with three event rooms for corporate gatherings such as team building activities, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and birthday parties. When planning for special events, Rudolph insists “forget golf, golf is out. Take them to the racetrack, bring them here to SpeedsportZ.”
